I had some good news: The Wizard Hunters, the first book in the Fall of Ile-Rien trilogy, sold to the same German publisher who released the German edition of The Death of the Necromancer last year. Yay!

I hope they pick up all three!

Great news! Congratulations!

Congratulations! Now if only bookstore chains in the U.S. would start carrying it again....

Thanks! That's not very likely to happen, at this point.

That's great news, Martha! It's nice to hear that some of my writer friends are making sales these days!

Wonderful news - congratulations!

That's awesome! Hopefully that bodes well for them taking the rest of the trilogy!

Awesome! Congrats!!!

I just recently (like in the past year) started reading the Fall of Ile-Rien trilogy and tonight I start the final book. Which kind of makes me sad. I love the characters so much I don't want it to end. :)

Thanks! And so glad you're enjoying the trilogy, I love hearing that. :)

Congratulations! And good luck!

Hurray!!! Congratulations! :D

Excellent! As posted above: may they pick up the rest of the series.

In other MW reading news, I dropped a copy of The Element of Fire onto my iPhone via Feedbooks, and spend a good chunk of a long plane flight reading it. It really is a lot of fun, but I didn't recall the ending at all. In some ways, I think it works beautifully. In others, well, there's not a lot of 'what happened next', but I will have to dig out my copy of Necromancer to glean what information I can when I get back to the states.

Just to be sure, though, you did authorize the Feedbooks version, right?

Thanks! :)

If that's from, then it is authorized. But the book is free through them and on my web site, so if someone else is carrying it, it's not a big deal.

It looks like Feedbooks got it from your website (along with three of your short stories: Wolf Night, Bad Medicine and Thorns) and reformatted the HTML into a variety of formats. It actually looks really good on Stanza on my iPhone, but you should know what's happening with your work.

They don't charge for it (free download), and they don't look like they're doing anything funky with your copyright or the formatting. And I love having a Stanza-friendly copy of your work. But it doesn't look like they exactly asked permission, either.

I mention it because it looks like they've done the same thing with 'free samples' from other peoples' websites. (Charles Stross, Cory Doctrow, etc.)

Okay, thanks for letting me know.

Whee! That's wonderful news, congratulations!

Good. :) And good luck with them grabbing the next ones!

Thanks very much! And yeah, I hope you're reading a new novel by me next year, too. :)

Re: Congratulations!

More new books please! Printfood for us all!

Yay, excellent! Congrats! :D
