Interesting interview! My favourite characters in your books are Khat and Tremaine: Khat because he is non-human and yet the reader can immediately identify with him, without ever losing the sense that he is alien; and Tremaine because she is that rarity in fantasy, a heroine who is a normal person, without any prophecies or special magical skills.

I do hope that your next book finds a publisher soon, because I love everything you write.

It's funny, I've had at least a few people including a reviewer comment on how glad they were that Tremaine didn't turn out to have any magical powers, and while I was writing the books I never even considered giving her any. I'd always seen her as a character like Nicholas, who didn't have magic/didn't need it to succeed.

Nice! Kade and Khat are two of my favorite characters of yours, too. Thought I'm also very fond of Nicholas.

I like Nicholas too, but in some ways he's very hard to write.
