How is the Carol Berg?

I'm reading "Queen of the Tearling" & enjoying it so far. I did have to kind of skip ahead a bit, because the first couple pages weren't very good, but once the ball got rolling on the story, it was fine.

I haven't read it yet -- it just came out today. I really like the previous series with Soul Mirror, so I've been looking forward to this one.

Berg's Collegia Magica books are still in my to-read pile - I loved Flesh & Spirit and Breath & Bone, but her stuff can get pretty intense. I have to be in the right mental space to read her. But man, Dust & Light sounds really good....
