The cats have the bed sectioned off into various one to two square-foot territories, and to pass across them requires delicate negotiation. Then the dog comes along and stamps across everything to get to his spot, and it's like a land war in Asia, except I'm trying to work in the middle of it.

I tried to make an apple pie, but it failed to enter the pie life cycle and got off at really liquid cobbler, instead. It's not bad, it's just not an actual pie.

I'm looking forward to Top Chef tonight, though most of these contestants are crap compared to last season's. If I was a judge, I would have punched Betty in the mouth during the Thanksgiving episode. But I could never be on reality TV, even the really neat "Victorian House" and "Regency House" etc ones that they show on PBS. Especially "Colonial House," where I'm pretty sure in the second week or so I would have burned down the colony.

Actually, that would have made for a pretty cool show. Burn down the colony, take the supply ship when it arrives, and change the name of the show to "Early American Pirates."
