So we have a new garage door opener. The good thing is that it is much quieter and will last longer than the old garage door opener. The bad thing is that the old one had to be replaced.

I didn't get much done this weekend; the cold front that came through so fast on Saturday did not do great things for my sinuses. At least we didn't get snow, the way Oklahoma and the DFW area did.

I'm not usually big on bestsellers, but I've been reading the The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Michael Chabon, and it's excellent.

The history behind the proposal at Sitka is quite fascinating, and Chabon does a very good job weaving together both the transformative possibilities of the various Jewish cultures with the very current idea of the inevitability of the reclaimation of the ancient Israeli state as the start of the end of days.

Extremely well written stuff.

And Missouri. 16" in some parts (not where I am, Ghu be acknowledged).

It was about $450, which was a bit more than we thought it would be. It makes me really wish we had done all this stuff back when we had more money, instead of putting it off.

Yay for the new garage door opener, boo for untimely expenses. :/

My parents in OK got 5 inches of snow. Yikes.

I have that book on my to-read pile. Your rec is encouraging!

It's definitely one of those books that completely sucks you into the world.
