Quick Friday Post

Audiobook news: I heard from Christopher Kipiniak, who is the actor who did the audiobooks for The Cloud Roads and The Serpent Sea, and they're going to start recording The Siren Depths in about two weeks. So it should be available sometime this spring.

The Hugo Nomination period is open. Members of LoneStarCon 3 (this year's WorldCon in San Antonio) and Loncon 3 (the 2014 Worldcon in London) who join by January 31, 2013, and all members of Chicon 7, (last year's WorldCon in Chicago), are invited to submit nominating ballots.

The Serpent Sea and The Siren Depths are both eligible.

Though if you are close enough to go to the WorldCon in San Antonio you totally should. It doesn't come down here very often.

I may have no chance at a Hugo nomination, either...but one can hope and try, right?

Yeah, you're right, and I actually took that sentence out, because it sounded too bitter. I'm just tired and worn out right now.

You are one of my favorite writers. I love the worlds you craft. I want to move to the world of the Raksura (as long as the Fel are well and truly gone!). I finished up The Siren Depths over Christmas vacation and I kept reading the last chapter over and over again because I loved it so much and didn't want to let it end. You have a great gift and I am so appreciative and grateful that I have the opportunity to share in your vision. Be of good cheer - there are many of us out here loving your work!! Much love and blessings to you always!

Re: Be of good cheer!

Thank you very much, Jann. I can't express how much I appreciate hearing that right now. :)

I'm looking forward to the audiobook of The Siren Depths -- though I'm very glad I caved and bought a hard copy instead of trying to wait for it, because it was excellent, and I really enjoyed reading it.

Now maybe I can re-read (or re-listen-to) it when the audiobook comes out, and it'll help brighten the more monotonous parts of my workday. :)

Cool, thank you! :) And I'll definitely post here if I hear anything else, or when I see the audiobook is available.

Cool! Cloud Roads was my first ever audiobook, so I was really glad it got an actor that did a great job.

I am really looking forward to WorldCon ;o)

I'll be nominating both books. They're fantastic. I just finished The Siren Depths earlier today, and loved it.

Thank you very much! And glad you enjoyed it!

Yes! I've been hoping for news on the audio book, I enjoyed The Siren Depths so much, I'm looking forward to having a lazy weekend with a books of the Raksura Audio Book Marathon when it comes out.
