Twenty Year Anniversary and Links

I realized this weekend that this year will be my 20th anniversary as a published author. The Element of Fire came out 20 years ago in July, 1993. That's 20 years, twelve books out with three more on the way.

I should probably do something for it, but I'm not sure what yet.

Since Hugo PIN numbers are going out, another reminder: the Hugo Nomination period is open. The Serpent Sea and The Siren Depths are both eligible. You can nominate if you are: Members of LoneStarCon 3 and Loncon 3 (the 2014 Worldcon) who join by January 31, 2013, and all members of Chicon 7, the prior year’s Worldcon, are invited to submit nominating ballots. If you didn't get the email with your PIN, you need to email the Hugo PIN email address on the front page of the Lone Star Con site.

Places I'll be going so far this year:

February 15-17, 2013. ConDFW, in Dallas, Texas.

May 4-5, 2013. DFW Writers Conference, in Hurst, Texas.

August 29-September 2, 2013. LoneStarCon 3, the World Science Fiction Convention, in San Antonio, Texas.

Thanks for the shout-out, Martha! :-)

Congratulations on your 20th anniversary! That's very nice.

Congrats on 20 years! That's really awesome :)

Also, are you not doing Aggie Con this year, or just not know yet because they are not always bastions of organization?

Thank you!

They haven't invited me (they haven't for the past couple of years), and this year I've decided to just let it slide and not try to contact them.

Ahh, that's fair, but also d'oh! I was hoping to be able to get the last of my Raksura books signed, and I can't really afford to travel. I wish you the best of luck at the other cons though, especially LoneStarCon, which sounds awesome :)

Here's to twice twenty more! Oh, happy anniversary! I hope you do something truly special -- yours is an anniversary by which a great mass of people (myself included) has benefited.

Congratulations on the anniversary! May there be many more years and many, many more books. :-)

It's a little belated, but Congratulations on 20 Years!

Aaaargh! I wish I was a member, so I could nominate you for a Hugo. I checked last year's nominations and winners and I can't speak about the other "best novel" nominations, but I *have* read the Song of Ice and Fire series and you're better than George R. R. Martin. If he got a nomination, I don't see why you shouldn't.

Congrats on 20 years of writing! May you have (at least) 20 more :)
