I contributed a bunch of books to Worldbuilders this year and you can see them at that link.

If you haven't heard of it before, Worldbuilders is a big SF/F fundraiser run by Patrick Rothfuss for Heifer International. When you donate on the Worldbuilders page, you're entered in a lottery to win signed books and other fabulous prizes. There are also auctions for individual items. The instructions and info are here.

Sarah Monette has a post Buy, Read, Talk: How to Help a Writer's Career
Back in 2009, when my career as a novelist went into a nosedive, somebody asked me what my readers could do to help. I apologize wholeheartedly to that person, for I no longer remember who they are. At the time, I didn't have a good answer, both because I really didn't know and because there was, at that point, nothing readers could do.
- her new book is The Goblin Emperor, coming out under the name Katherine Addison

And my agent Jennifer Jackson has a contest to win an ARC of an upcoming book.

looks like the ARC contest is only for people who have WordPress blogs?

I don't really know, I just saw the announcement about it and passed it on.

I read here regularly, but lurk more often than I comment.

This is just to say that I so enjoy your brief book recommendations and links. Most of the other places I read online (not all that many) seem to have closely overlapping reading habits, so if I see something mentioned in one place I often see it in three or four. And sometimes I'll hear it from you, too - that's the nature of buzz. But often I come here and you mention books I haven't heard of at all, or link to places I don't normally go but enjoy when I follow you there.

At the moment, this is thanks for linking to that piece of Sarah Monette's. I loved her Labyrinths series, and knew she was going to have something under a new pen name but would have lost track of what / when / what name if you hadn't mentioned it.

So, thanks.

Cool, I'm glad you found some things you wouldn't have found otherwise. :)
